Full-scale forensic reconstruction of motor vehicle collisions for civil litigation and criminal proceedings. Lieutenant Hardy is a qualified accident reconstructionist through the Institute for Police Technology and Management (IPTM), University of North Florida, and has served as primary reconstructionist on over 40 of the 60-plus fatal and serious injury crashes he has investigated throughout Oregon. Analysis integrates physical evidence, scene documentation, vehicle dynamics, and electronic data to produce a complete, scientifically supported sequence of events prepared to meet Daubert and Frye evidentiary standards.
Services include: scene documentation review, speed and trajectory analysis, visibility assessment, pre-impact maneuvering analysis, impact mechanics, 3D scan data integration, written reconstruction report, and litigation support.
Advanced extraction and forensic interpretation of Event Data Recorder data from passenger vehicles and light trucks. Lieutenant Hardy completed EDR training through IPTM at both introductory and advanced levels. Analysis is performed in strict compliance with 49 CFR Part 563 regulatory standards. Findings are translated from raw module data into clear, court-admissible reports accurately representing pre-crash vehicle dynamics — speed, throttle application, braking, steering input, and occupant restraint data.

Lieutenant Hardy completed both Federal North American Standard Level 1 and Oregon Standard Level 2 Commercial Vehicle Inspector training, and completed dedicated CMV crash investigation training through the Forensic Accident Reconstructionists of Oregon. This regulatory and investigative foundation informs thorough, credible CMV accident analysis that addresses the unique physics, compliance considerations, and evidence sources involved in heavy vehicle collisions.

These capabilities allow Apex Dynamics to capture and preserve crash scenes with a level of detail and accuracy that supports rigorous reconstruction analysis and compelling courtroom presentation.
