Brian Hardy
Brian Hardy is a crash reconstructionist, EDR analyst, and forensic consultant
with more than seven years of specialized experience in traffic collision investigation.
He founded Apex Dynamics to bring rigorous, independently derived analysis to civil
litigation throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
Brian currently serves as a Lieutenant with an Oregon Sheriff's Office, where
he oversees a Field Training and Evaluation Program and supervises a multi-agency
investigation team. His law enforcement background provides direct experience with
crash investigation from first response through prosecution.
He is a member of the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction
Specialists (NAPARS) and the Forensic Accident Reconstructionists of Oregon (FAO).
His reconstructions are methodology-driven and structured to withstand Daubert scrutiny
in Oregon and federal courts.
Brian holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License and conducts aerial scene documentation
with DJI professional-grade UAV platforms. He is certified by FARO and Trimble for
terrestrial laser scanning, and has extensive commercial motor vehicle investigation
experience including prior Federal Level 1 and Oregon Level 2 inspector training.

Institute of Police Technology and Management training in traffic crash investigation and reconstruction methodology, including speed analysis, pedestrian and motorcycle crashes. Qualified through training and extensive field experience.

Event Data Recorder Analysis
Experienced EDR analyst for passenger and commercial vehicles. Proficient in Bosch CDR tool and supporting EDR retrieval hardware across multiple vehicle platforms.

FARO & Trimble 3D Scanning
Certified operator for FARO Focus and Trimble terrestrial laser scanning systems. Scene data processed into forensic-grade point clouds and 3D models for litigation support.
